Just to get the ball rolling...
Fancy a long weekend ride.... and a bit more.

Irish version of the 'End to End' offering excellent and varied cycling. Route takes you through the counties of Cork and Kerry and includes the Cliffs of Moher, The Burren and the dramatic Gap of Dunloe. Enjoy famous Irish hospitality and music. Hotel & B&B accommodation.

Another route Martin was looking at is west to east...
That's more like 240m. End to end 400m is where I'm at for now.

Also suggest the Tour of Wessex as a warm up 24/25/26 May
And maybe do the end to end first week of July... best weather and kids at school.

Ok.
Lets work with the date.... week commencing Monday 23 to Sunday 29 June.
Logistics say south to north. Flying both ways. Bike boxes taken by 'a man with a van'. We travel light as tourers.

Looking at flight details:

Tuesday 24 June / Stansted 9.15 - Cork 10.40 / 85mins / £93 booking asap
Man with a van to transport bike boxes to northern destination / cost and logistics tbc
Sunday 29 June / Derry 17.25 - Stansted 18.45 / £44 booking asap

Any idea how much accomodaton will be?

Looking at a few guest houses and value hotels we probably will average below £40pp per night with breakfast - probably 5 or 6 nights.

As a rough guide the route may be as follows:
RIDE DAY 1 - Cork to Tralee via Bantry (115m).
RIDE DAY 2 -Tralee to Galway via Kilrush crossing the river Shannon (115m).
RIDE DAY 3 - Galway to Sligo via Castlebar (110m).
RIDE DAY 4 - Sligo to Derry (95m).

Might be a tad ambitious... might be more relaxed doing 80-90 a day.

Check out the map, because of logistics it may be better not to ride exactly end to end - more Cork to Derry.

Mizen Head to Kilarney in the bag.... coastal route then two 6m climbs over moutains in biblical rain - descending with a Day one done! Awesome mountain climbing and fast dangerous descending with a gusty sidewind. Tmw up to Limerick... 4 big climbs.
